http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/bharat-niti-yogi-adityanath-hindutva-army/1/1008206.html
New Delhi:Now Hinduism and Hindutva would be protected and propagated by an army of online warriors.RSS-BJP affiliated think tank Bharat Niti has planned a massive 'Hinduism and Social Media Conclave' in November in the holy city of Kashi, as PM Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi is also known. The right-wing aims to raise a dedicated unit of virtual soldiers from among its Internet and social media savvy cadre to "protect Hinduism from being deprecated and its symbols desecrated on online platforms by people inspired by leftist ideologies or Islamism".The online route seems in line with the social media presence of the BJP-RSS complex of organisations and the fact that the PM is one of the most followed people on Twitter in the world. The gathering would discuss how Hinduism can be protected and propagated via online and social media platforms such as Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram."It has become the order of the day that miscreants post defiling material on social media websites so as to hurt the feelings of the Hindus," Shailendra Sengar, member of the management team of Bharat Niti said. Sengar, who is also the newly appointed vice president of BJP's Kisan Morcha said  that UP  CM  Yogi Adityanath, who has come to be seen recently as the new and more aggressive face of Hindutva politics, is the designated chief guest for the event. BJP-RSS ideologues such as Murlidhar Rao would also be attending the meet. Rao is a leading right-wing economic ideologue and the mentor of Bharat Niti initiative. india today

BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday said the Ram temple at the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya will be constructed within the legal framework. Shah was addressing local party office bearers in Jaipur on Saturday where he is currently on a three-day visit.“The party’s stand is clear and mentioned in the last four Lok Sabha election manifestos,” Shah said, according to PTI. “The temple should be constructed in a legal manner and there should be mutual dialogue.”  On July 13, MP Sanjay Raut, a member of the saffron party’s ally Shiv Sena, had said activists did not consider the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Babri Masjid controversy relevant to their demand for a Ram Temple in Ayodhya. “We did not protest for a Ram Mandir with the court’s permission,” the saffron party leader had said.BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, had however, distanced the party from the Shiv Sena MP’s statements. “BJP believes in the judiciary of India and will never support such statements,” Vijayvargiya had said. scroll.in
Gorkha Janamukti Morcha is hiring Maoists to train for armed movement:W.Bengal police
https://scroll.in/latest/844763/gorkha-janamukti-morcha-is-hiring-maoists-to-train-for-armed-movement-says-west-bengal-police
The West Bengal Police on Saturday said it had inputs that the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha was hiring Maoists from neighbouring countries for a prolonged underground armed movement for a separate state, PTI reported. Maoists have been hired as mercenaries to train the GJM cadres.“It may target Govt properties and senior police and administrative officials to aggravate the situation,” ADG(Law and Order) Anuj Sharma said. West Bengal police believe the GJM is training its members under the guise of its outfit Gorkhaland Personnel. GJM has stockpiled a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the last few years, an unidentified official told PTI. “We have intelligence reports that they are preparing for underground armed movement in the hills,” the official said, adding that somewhere between 25 to 30 mercenaries have been hired by the party. The state Govt  is believed to be considering sending several senior IPS officers, who have experience in countering Maoist insurgency, to the area. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s national representatives body expresses concern over mob lynching,
http://jamaateislamihind.org/eng/resolutions-adopted-at-the-session-of-central-representative-council-jamaat-e-islami-hind-held-at-bengaluru-from-15-to-18-july-2017/
New Delhi:Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s National Council of Representatives (majlis-e-numaindegaan) met in Bengaluru from 15 to 18 July 2017 to discuss various organizational issues and the prevailing situation in the country and the world. It adopted resolutions which focussed on the increasing incidents of mob-lynching, the role of the Govt and the responsibilities of the Muslim community in India. Jamaat's National Council of Representatives said,"3 years have passed since the present Govt at the Centre started functioning. The criminal activities of the groups associating themselves with Hindutva are at their climax. Instead of controlling them, it seems, they have been given free leash to do destructive activities. Attacks on religious minorities and Dalits are on an increase, as a result of which hatred among the citizens in the country has gone up, the image of the country in the world stands tarnished, and the problems of the people have got muddled at the social and economic levels. GST law and demonetisation have made the financial problems complex instead of solving them. This session of Jamaat expresses grave concern over this situation and demands from the Govt  not to consider itself the Govt  of a particular party or group of citizens but to function deeming itself responsible for the good of the whole country and all her citizens. The new developed conflict with China is a matter of concern. To deal with the China issue the Govt should adopt realistic approach to neighbouring countries and make efforts to win the confidence of and maintain congenial relations with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives in particular. In view of this session the new era of active cooperation with Israel, going ahead of maintaining friendly relations with it, is very harmful for the independence of our country. It is the history of Israel that it is slave to its own interests; its existence has never benefited any country. This session demands from the Govt that it should not weaken its age-old relations with Arab countries on the basis of inexplicit benefits from Israel. It is a matter of regret that the PM of India, during his recent visit to Israel, did not make any mention of Palestine – which is against our truthful tradition and which ignores our standpoint on Palestine. Certain narrow-minded quarters might hail this new era of relationship with Israel and America but this approach of friendship with imperialist powers is not right, is against truth and justice and is not in the interest of the country. We should adopt the foreign policy based on the moral status of our country, on the moral values that can protect our sovereignty and freedom, on universal principles and the principle of human brotherhood and on international justice."

Goa: All-religion public meet slams govt’s silence over atrocities against minorities and women
https://www.heraldgoa.in/Goa/Allreligion-public-meet-condemns-polarisation/117992.html
Panjim: Cutting across religious lines, people gathered at the Azad Maidan in the capital, to condemn the religious polarisation in the State and the country on Saturday. The public meeting was organised by Interfaith Alliance for Justice and Peace in Goa with the theme, ‘Plant Justice, Harvest Peace,’ where speaker after speaker condemned the Govt ’s silence over the atrocities against the minorities and women.Asif Hussain of Peace and Harmony said that the mission of polarisation will continue until 2019. “It is not about minority versus majority, its hate versus love. It is egoistic nationalism versus humanity. It is fascism versus welfare state. And that is why we need to up stand up now,” he stated.Social activist Soter D’Souza said that the battle doesn’t end with the arrest of one person, therefore the solidarity is not just for any community or state but for the country and for the world.“The police found something written on Francis’ (Pereira) vehicle as a clue and from there they had a doubt on Francis. Now he has said that in the prison the Israelis taught him all this. And if that is so, the police should see the clue that the communal tensions in the country have an Israeli hand behind them. They (Israelis) are teaching them polarisation in the prisons,” he said. Meenaz Banu, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, said that while the world wanted to learn a lesson of unity from India, the recent situation is of great concern. “By attacking the sensitive issue there's an attempt to instigate social disharmony.Today there's an attempt to instil permanent hatred in the hearts of Hindus,”she stated.“How can you take away the right given by the constitution of India to every citizen? It is the fundamental right to life which has been envisaged in the Constitution by the law makers,” Dalit activist Chandrakant Jhadhav questioned right wing bodies.heraldgoa

Govt schemes have little impact in uplifting Muslim women: Unpublished minority commission report
http://indianexpress.com/article/india/govt-schemes-have-little-impact-in-uplifting-muslim-women-unpublished-minority-commission-report-4763003/
Mumbai:An unpublished report sanctioned by the state’s Commission for Minorities to assess the socio-economic status of Muslim women and discrimination leading to backwardness has said development schemes meant for the minority community have had little impact in uplifting Muslim women. Those who conducted the study claim that there is “no political will” to publish it. The report was completed in 2012 but was not released by the ex-Congress-NCP Govt or the current BJP-led regime. The study had a detailed review of popular schemes and interviews of Muslim women in four ghettos — Kurla and Mumbra in Mumbai, and Waluj and Pathanwadi in Aurangabad. Data analysed under Maulana Azad Direct Loan Scheme, which provides loans of Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000 to the minority community, showed male beneficiaries were three times higher than female ones. The number of male Muslim beneficiaries rose from 117 to 12,152 between 2007-08 and 2010-11 but female beneficiaries for the same period rose from 86 to only 3,889. The research titled “Socio-Economic status of Muslim Women and their access to Development schemes and Programmes in Maharashtra” was completed in 2012 by SNDT’s Research Centre for Women’s Studies. “It was sanctioned by the minority commission for recommendations to improve the status of Muslim women. We found that Govt  schemes were well conceptualised but poorly implemented,” said Veena Poonacha, former director of Centre for Women’s Studies. indian express
Accommodation between Dalits, upper castes increasing, despite surge in violence: University of London’s Prof
http://indianexpress.com/article/india/accommodation-between-dalits-and-upper-castes-increasing-despite-surge-in-violence-4763021/
Bengaluru: University of London’s Prof James Manor on Saturday said that accommodation between Dalits and upper castes was increasing despite an increase in anti-Dalit violence.“I believe they are increasing more than the increase in violence and atrocity,’’ Manor said on the second day of an international meet on BR Ambedkar here. “I cannot prove it but I am fairly sure. There are, however, exceptions like Haryana and parts of Tamil Nadu.’’ Manor said that individual conflicts are increasing because there is greater social tension because Dalits are no longer accepting caste hierarchy.“The challenge to the hierarchy creates resentment among the so-called caste Hindus’ therefore you get more social tension.’’Political psychologist Ashis Nandy argued that there was a slow change in the situation. “I do believe there are reasons of hope. There are number of countries with a caste system and untouchability. In Japan,Burkamins are considered untouchables. If a country like Japan takes 150 years to break the back of a caste system, we should have some patience.” He said that there is no doubt that Dalits are victimised.“But there are sources of resistance, resilience. Dalits are not a passive receivers of welfare or violence,” he said, adding, “Despite their suffering, they also have their own culture of music and art and we must celebrate it.’’Dalit feminist and Tamil writer Bama begged to differ and said that the caste system is a reality in Indian villages. “…people really suffer untouchability and exclusion for using common places,’’ Bama said.“Without tackling caste issues, we cannot live as human beings with dignity…’’Bama said that she has little hope of caste being eradicated because casteism is increasing. “The more we try to liberate, the more we are suppressed. Look at this beef eating issue,’’ she said. “While paying the price of our rebellion and struggle against injustice and inequalities, we have also learnt to celebrate the strength of our rebellious culture and this gives us a heady and exhilarating sense of being human.’’ Bama said that this is much needed amid a lynch culture.Bama said that 96% of attacks on Dalits have been in the name of cow protection after the NDA Govt  came to power. Bama quoted Ambedkar and said that “a religion that compels the illiterate to be illiterate and the poor to be poor is not a religion but a punishment. Hinduism based on a divisive caste culture will ruin Hindus and ultimately India’’.indianexpress
MP House debates stray cows, BJP MLAs say a ‘problem’
http://indianexpress.com/article/india/mp-house-debates-stray-cows-bjp-mlas-say-a-problem-4763039/
Bhopal : “Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holders get ration and other Govt  facilities. Can’t we make a law to force every BPL card holder to rear at least one cow? If they don’t keep cows, they will not get BPL facilities.” This suggestion by BJP MLA Murlidhar Patidar came as members of the MP Assembly, while discussing a ‘non-Govt  resolution’, admitted that stray cows were raiding agricultural land and proving to be a menace to farmers. The resolution, moved by veteran BJP MLA Shankarlal Tiwari, sought an end to the centuries-old practice of ‘era’, where farmers let loose their cows post-harvest to allow them to graze. The practice, members said, was adding to the number of stray cows. While the debate occasionally veered towards cow protection and supremacy of cow milk, gaumutra (urine) and gobar (dung), the focus was largely on the ill-effects of ‘era’ and the ways in which the problem of stray cows could be tackled. Lawmakers also admitted that monetary and commercial considerations, besides lack of fodder and encroachment on grazing land, were the main reasons why owners were abandoning their cows.indianexpress

Cow derivates is the focus area for research in staterun institutions but scientists claim a paucity of funds has held back research with no major breakthroughs. That, however, may change soon as the Govt  has set up a national steering committee on Panchgavaya (the mixture of five cow derivates-milk, curd, ghee, dung and urine) for scientific validation of widely held beliefs that cow products can cure diseases such as cancer .The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has conducted research in collaboration with the RSS-backed Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra, Nagpur, on cow urine distillate for its antioxidant and bio-enhancing properties on anti-infective and anti-cancer agents and nutrients.“4 US Patents have been secured since 2002 and one pharmaceutical product containing cow urine distillate with anti-oxidant property is available in the market,” AYUSH minister Shripad Naik had said in the Parliament.Scientists at IIT-Delhi have finalised eight proposals to be put before the National Steering Committee led by Union science minister Harsh Vardhan in August. But there is no problem in eating the meat of other animals," Athawale said.He further said that thrashing and killing people in name of cow protection has become a fashion nowadays."Some people are trying to break the unity and integrity of the nation. No one has right to take law in his or her hands. Chant this mantra 5 times before prayers to block Chinese goods: RSS
http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/chinese-goods-rss-mantra/1/1008676.html
New Delhi:RSS wants to ward off the "asura", or demon, of China with a new "mantra". While the Sangh has advocated a policy of economic assault on Beijing by encouraging Indians to shun the use of Chinese goods and materials in daily lives, even in the process of praying, it has come up with a mantra to be chanted five times before prayers, be it a Hindu household's daily offerings to God or a Muslim's namaz.Even as the rejection of Chinese manufactures used in such daily affairs as household worshipping rituals is meant to attack the ubiquitous presence of China-made goods, thereby denying the neighbour one of the largest consumer markets in the world, it also aims to educate Indians in things they use without knowing them to be of Chinese origin. RSS has maintained that while war is undesirable, if push comes to shove, the country is ready and has, therefore, come out to support the hard stance assumed by India on the tri-junction (India-Bhutan-China) confrontation in the Doklam plateau. indiatoday

Israel installs security cameras at al-Aqsa compound
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/07/israel-installs-security-cameras-al-aqsa-compound-170723090317368.html
Israel has installed new security cameras at the entrance to a contested Jerusalem holy site, as officials began indicating it was considering "alternatives" to the metal detectors at the shrine that set off a weekend of violence and raised tensions in the region.Speaking from occupied East Jerusalem, Al Jazeera's Imran Khan said Palestinians had feared that Israel would place CCTV cameras at the entrances to al-Aqsa compound."Palestinians are very angry about this because they consider this an additional security measure," he said. "They've always maintained that the metal detectors may be the first move in the Israelis taking over the compound."Israel introduced the new security measures last week after Palestinian gunmen opened fire from the shrine, killing two Israeli policemen. It said they were a necessary measure to prevent more attacks and were deployed routinely at holy sites around the world. But Palestinians alleged Israel was trying to expand its control at Muslim-administered site and have launched mass prayer protests.Hussein Da'na, a 76-year-old Palestinian, said that he "rejects" the cameras because they disadvantage Palestinians further."These cameras are made to identify the faces of people who are barred from entering al-Aqsa Mosque," Da'na said."We pray each morning here and the police assaults us. I intend to keep praying here until Israel removes all what is new," he added, referring to the security measures. However, Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, told the Voice of Palestine he demands a complete return to procedures that were in place before the initial attack at the shrine, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount. In a statement on Sunday, the Islamic institutions in Jerusalem, of which he is a part, said they "affirm the categorical rejection of the electronic gates and all the measures of occupation".Al Jazeera
